Mainly made at home by Balinese women, we sell high-quality and extremely comfortable sandals.With our products you feel completely comfortable and at the same time support many women who, through this work, make a significant contribution to the livelihood of their families.
A rice field, Sawah in Indonesian, is a source of life in Asia. It is a place where we can experience the miracle of growth first hand. The careful planting of the rice shoots, the care and the precisely coordinated watering and draining of the plants leads first to the beautiful green fields and ultimately to our daily food, rice.
For us, the care in the creation, the sustainable production and the grace of the rice plants are the model for the production of our handmade sandals. We carefully select our materials, design for grace, comfort and quality, and support Balinese families in a sustainable and dignified existence through the work-from-home model.
My Family member started making handmade Bali sandals for the local market in 2010. She had no brand or company. From nothing, she created the home-based business made up mostly of Balinese women. They earned additional income by embroidering beads on sandals while taking care of their families. Production continues to this day. These sandals can be found in local markets and also in some boutiques in tourist areas.
In 2014, I had the opportunity to produce sandals for a German shoe retail company. Together with the whole Home Industry Creative we were able to meet the desired requirements. At that time, I was responsible for the design, production control, labeling, packaging and shipping to Germany.
The great experiences working with the many women and the resulting certainty that we can deliver high quality and attractive designs did not diminish the desire to build on this, even after I moved to Switzerland. In 2023 I decided to revive production and take over marketing in Switzerland myself and that when Reisfeld brand was born.
My goal is to design unique and comfortable sandals that interpret Balinese culture in a modern way, and also working with small home Industry Creative that supporting Local Bali products and economy. The long-lasting product, good quality and selective materials also will be always our concern in every model and production.
